11 Things

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

So this little 11 Things game has been going around, and when Erica over at Mi Todo tagged me, I decided to go ahead and give it a go. So here it is, mind you it's a bit long.

There are five rules

1. Post these rules.
2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things.
3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you've tagged them.

11 Random Things

1. I am a bit OCD, but for some reason when I’m at home I’m not. At work, I have to have everything in it’s place. My highlighters have to be in a certain order, paper clips are organized by color, everything is filed a certain way, and my pictures have to be aligned straight.

2. I schedule pretty much everything. I bought this planner when I started classes last fall, and it stays pretty much attached to me at all times. It’s saved my butt a lot with bills, appointments, and remembering birthdays. As much as it’s helped get my life in order sometimes I wish I didn’t rely on the damn thing so much.

3. I still don’t know if my “first time” counts. The boyfriend , right before my husband, and I had been together for over a year when we first attempted to have sex. His attempt, was...um....a no go, and he tried anyway and it lasted a mere, 5 seconds (I’M NOT EVEN JOKING). It was an epic fail, and a few months later we broke up. (Not because of that.)

4. I bite my nails. It’s a nasty habit, I’ve tried quitting, and it never works. Currently, they are very, very short and awful looking. I don’t feel like I have an addictive personality, but if it’s one thing I am addicted to, it’s that.

5. I secretly wish I could be an archeologist, or study the planets and stars. I love history, and I LOVE seeing how past generations lived. To be able to go and discover those things, or dig up mummies and artifacts from certain past era’s would be awesome! I also really enjoy hearing about space. It’s such a big universe out there, and I think it would be really cool to get to study it.

6. I wish I were a bit more spontaneous. I'm not a huge fan of getting into routines. But with school, work, and a family, I have to have one. If I don’t, everything goes to shit, and I’m left even more frustrated than when I started.

7. I don’t know how to bowl.

8. I really wish I could become a vegetarian, but damn it I love burgers.

9. My personality kind of sucks. Not gunna lie. I used to be the type of person who loved going out, and had a lot of “friends”. As I got older, and after I had Emery, my priorities changed. I feel like I have no room for bullshit in my life, so sometimes I can come off as a bit of a bitch. Okay, not come off as, I am one. I speak my mind, and I’m not afraid to tell people that they’re being stupid. Either you like me or you don’t. :)

10. I fear losing my daughter. THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT SCARES THE SHIT OUT OF ME. I read/watch too many things about bad shit happening to children, kidnappings, murders, accidents, illnesses, and rapes, that I’m now afraid of having her out of my sight. I constantly worry about car accidents, her choking, her falling and breaking her neck. I worry about leaving her with my husband when his friends are over (when I’m at school). Not saying that his friends are evil or they’re going to hurt her, I just don’t like doing it. It makes me feel uncomfortable. I worry that she might get cancer, or that she’ll get sick and I won’t notice the symptoms of something terrible and she’ll end up suffering. I worry that one day something bad could happen, and I won’t be there for her.
11. I LOVE HANSON & H.I.M. Too completely different styles of music. But those bands are my two favorite of all time.

Questions From Erica

1. If you could only listen to 5 songs for the rest of your life, which songs would they be? Oh, this one is tough!Umm, 1) Swing Life Away by Rise Against 2) Penny and Me by Hanson 3) Right Here In My Arms by H.I.M. 4) Waiting on My Ruca by Sublime 5) No Scrubs by TLC

2. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Finland or Egypt

3. What is one of your favorite childhood memories? My grandpa tucking our covers around our feet, after we were asleep.

4. If you were to get a new/your first tattoo, what would it be of? I want my daughters birth flower. Currently saving up for this.

5. Were you in any clubs in high school? Are you still interested in the same things? I played basketball up until high school, because I started being homeschooled after 8th grade. I still like to watch it, but I haven’t played it in a very very long time.

6. What is your favorite smell? This is going to be totally weird, but I loved the smell of my daughters baby breath when she was a newborn.

7. Do you believe in ghosts? Why? YES! I’m a believer because of those damn ghost shows on Discovery. LOL! No, umm, I don’t really know why I do, I just do. I feel like it is possible for someone to stick around a bit longer after they die. But, one experience that I had completely reassured me of it. When my grandpa was dying, our family had all come together to say their goodbyes, all of us kids went home and set up our beds on the floor because all of the adults would be using the beds. Well, we all fell asleep, and my grandpa passed away that night. When we woke up our covers were tucked in around our feet like my grandpa used to do. After the funeral I had been feeling a bit angry at how my grandpa went. I felt cheated out of a lot. But a few nights later, I woke up and saw my grandpa standing at the end of my bed by my window looking out. Maybe it was my mind playing tricks on me, or a dream but I swear it was real. He looked at me, smiled, and then he was gone. I went back to sleep feeling calm.

8. If you could change one thing about your body would you change anything? What would it be? Yes. I’d ask for my old body back. I miss it.

9. What fictional character (movie, t.v. show, or book) do you most relate to? Tara from Sons of Anarchy.

10. If you could meet any famous person from the past or present, who would it be? Damn! Another hard one. It would be a hard decision between Ville Valo of H.I.M. or Rome from Sublime with Rome.

11. Why did you start blogging? I actually started blogging a bit way back when I was a teenager on Xanga! It was just a way to write about stupid teenage drama and my very emotional feelings. LOL! I quit that after a while. But then I discovered blogger and wordpress back in 2008, and started writing just random stuff about my life on both platforms. I became pregnant, and documented a little bit about it. My life was way too “chaotic” to keep that one up. But finally after having my daughter I created this blog to write about my new life.

  1. I really like the tattoo of your daughter's birth flower!

  2. Thanks! I actually stole the idea from Mandy (Mama and The Dudes). She has her sons birth flower tattooed. I thought it was such a cool idea, because it's so different from getting their names or feet prints tattooed. Yet it's still meaningful. :)
