Today, my daughter turns TWO.
At 3pm.
I'm taking a few hours to process this.
Fortunately, I wrote a letter in advance yesterday.
Dear Emery,
Well, look how fast time slipped by, baby girl. Today you’re turning two!
People are always telling me to “not blink”, or I’ll miss something and regret
it. Well, today, I’m realizing just what they mean by this. Where did this past
year go, mija? One minute you were taking your first steps and the next you’re
wanting to pick out your own clothes for the day. We went from baby babble, to
full sentences in the blink of an eye. And as I type this, I’m trying to recall
every single second of the past year that I can possibly remember. I wish there
was a way to go back and watch our lives like you would a movie. Because I don’t
want to forget a single moment.
You've taught me so much these past two years, Em. You’ve taught me
unconditional love, and patience. How to enjoy the simple things, and moments.
I’ve learned to see things in such a different light, all thanks to you. I’m a
better person because of you. I’ll never let that go.
So Happy Birthday, baby girl!
We love you very much!
p.s. I apologize in advance
for sticking a camera in your face,
pretty much all day tomorrow. :)
