All of My Pictures are Gone

Sunday, August 1, 2010

I bought our new computer back in January, and when I did I burned all of my pictures from our old computer onto CD’s so I could transfer them over. They all said that they had burned and I was so busy packing stuff and getting ready for my move that I just put the CD’s up and deleted everything off of our old computer.

Well, last week, I finally found the box that had all of those pictures, and I started to transfer the ones that I wanted. When I got to the last two CD’s, which had pictures of me, my brother, my family, old friends, and old parties the CD’s read blank!!! I went to my parent's house and looked at our old computer, only to see that it had been messed with and the recycle bin had been emptied out. So there went all 1,000 pictures!! All of them gone because I was stupid enough to not check the CDs. My mother said that they’d check with a “computer specialist” and see if they could dig them up from our hard drive, but I’ve read on a lot of sites that if you’ve used the computer from the time you lost the pictures that they are probably overwritten. Making them impossible to retrieve. My uncle used the computer A LOT.

I still can’t believe those pictures are all gone. My younger years were all documented through those pictures and now they are gone forever. It’s really, really sad. And I’m sure as soon as that specialist confirms that all hope is lost, I will break down and cry. I am such a sap, I know. But, what am I going to show Emery now? I needed proof to show her (when she’s older) that I’ve been through it. I was this rock and roll chic once, I didn’t always look like a mommy. I was young once too. And now, I got nothing.

Hubby Is Back; Debt Collector Taken Care Of and It's Raining!!!

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

My husband is baaaaccccckkkk!!! They arrived yesterday night. Despite being annoyed with him not calling, I truly missed him. And I was right about the drinking, my cousins did take him out and so did my dad. Everyone reported back that he handled himself well and that he knew when to cut himself off. Which makes me proud!!

Today I had a bad day. My check was less than $400. I won't be able to pay for some things we need bc insurance, lawyer, and tickets had to be paid first. I'm glad I bought all that extra formula and diapers last pay check or we'd be in some deep crap. Then, I got another call from the debt collector...at work! I've been trying to settle or at least get some of my fees waived because it was not my fault that I went over, it was the companies. I managed to get what I wanted and to lower the payments!!! So even though I'm still in debt, at least they're giving me a break.

And to end my day, it is raining!!! Lightning and thundering too! I love it! It makes me happy. The sound of the clinking on the metal roof, the way the room lights up, and those big rumbles; got to love a good storm! Emery's sleeping right through it, LOL!!!

Ok, well, I'm off to bed! Tomorrow is my half day and I want it to get here as soon as possible.

Single Mommy Mode

Saturday, July 24, 2010

My mother and grandmother left for Lubbock bright and early this morning and won't be back till tomorrow night. Regardless of her helping me out a bit, I have been doing the "single mommy" thing for a few days now. I would like to just say "To all the single moms out there, I give you props! It is hard work doing EVERYTHING alone." But these past few days have made me come to realize that even though it would be hard if my husband ever did leave me, I could do this. Anyone who knows my husband will know that this is a good realization for me.

My husband has been gone to Georgia (with my dad to help relatives move back to Texas), since Thursday. I have received a total of 3 text messages (none were from today). All but one were one-word replies. My mother talks to my dad at least 3 times a day! And that's him calling her!! They won't be back till Tuesday, and my husband hasn't even bothered to call!! I am official proof that girls don't always end up marrying someone that resembles their dad.

So it would appear that my husband doesn't really miss us. I tried texting him today and he didn't bother replying. He hasn't called either. You would think that if you were to be gone a whole week, you'd at least start missing your daughter. Maybe call your wife to see how she's doing, especially if she's having to stay alone. But, with my luck, he's at the bar having shots with my cousins, perhaps my dad as well, and he's having himself a good ole time.

So I have a question: If I'm the one busting my ass, why is HE getting to go out and have a vacation?
