My mother and grandmother left for Lubbock bright and early this morning and won't be back till tomorrow night. Regardless of her helping me out a bit, I have been doing the "single mommy" thing for a few days now. I would like to just say "To all the single moms out there, I give you props! It is hard work doing EVERYTHING alone." But these past few days have made me come to realize that even though it would be hard if my husband ever did leave me, I could do this. Anyone who knows my husband will know that this is a good realization for me.
My husband has been gone to Georgia (with my dad to help relatives move back to Texas), since Thursday. I have received a total of 3 text messages (none were from today). All but one were one-word replies. My mother talks to my dad at least 3 times a day! And that's him calling her!! They won't be back till Tuesday, and my husband hasn't even bothered to call!! I am official proof that girls don't always end up marrying someone that resembles their dad.
So it would appear that my husband doesn't really miss us. I tried texting him today and he didn't bother replying. He hasn't called either. You would think that if you were to be gone a whole week, you'd at least start missing your daughter. Maybe call your wife to see how she's doing, especially if she's having to stay alone. But, with my luck, he's at the bar having shots with my cousins, perhaps my dad as well, and he's having himself a good ole time.
So I have a question: If I'm the one busting my ass, why is HE getting to go out and have a vacation?
