Simple News

My baby girl is less than a week away from being FIVE months! The time has gone by way too fast. She is now 17 lbs 8 oz, and 28 1/2" inches long!! Such a tall girl. At first, I didn't think she was that much bigger until I saw her next to another five month old. Yup, there is a difference. The doctor said that either she's going to grow pretty quickly and then stop or she's just going to be a tall girl when she grows up. She owes that to her dad, I’m sure because I’m only 5’ 2”! She’s trying to sit on her own, but she's a bit wobbly sometimes. She's grasping and throwing things, so we're starting to make sure whatever we give her is soft. LOL! Daddy's been hit over the head with some of her harder toys and it wasn't very fun for him. And now she’s trying to sit up on her own! We have quite a ways to go, but at least she's trying now. I'm soo excited!! Watching her discover and do new things completely blows me away. It's absolutely fascinating to me! I could watch her all day.

Right now though, I think she's getting a bit of a cold, which has not been pleasant. Not horrible, but not great either. Stuffy nose, a little cough, and a lot of crying fits seem to be the thing right now. So, if she's not better by this weekend, I'm setting up an appointment for her next week.

I can't stress enough how this little bundle of joy is literally my world now. And with things being shaken up on the home front, she is literally my rock. She's the one thing that keeps me grounded, keeps me still, and yet has me moving forward. And for that, I am truly grateful. Some rough times are ahead of us and I just really hope that we come out the other end, ok. Still in one piece, and still a family.

Whatever happens in life, because of her, I will always come out ok. And I fully believe that.

Rollercoasters!! Or Maybe Not…

Monday, July 12, 2010

I love when people change plans, less than 24 hours beforehand.... NOT!

The past two weeks, everything had been set that we'd go to Six Flags on the 13th with some of Beau's family. I was beyond excited! I love roller coasters, and I haven't been since I was 17! I had to wait to make sure we'd have the money for it before saying yes. My check came in, and we were good to go! My mother even offered to babysit Emery so we wouldn't have to have her out in that 102-degree heat. I had clothes and a little "essentials" bag prepared. I could almost feel the wind hitting me from going really fast, on the Batman! I could feel the heat and the misters!! Ah, the thrills!

I got a text message today at 3 pm telling me that they had changed their minds, they were going to the water park instead. I think I almost cried.

NO ONE (and I do mean NOOOOO OOOONNNNEEEE!) wants/needs to see me in a bathing suit of any kind. First, I have huge, UGLY stretch marks. I am not even exaggerating (pictures). Second, I am fat. Parts of me jiggle that SHOULD NEVER jiggle. NO ONE needs to see that. I, myself, get grossed out by looking at it. And last, even if I were to get talked into going, I have no bathing suit that FITS, and those are not cheap. So I'd end up spending just as much if not more to go to a water park then I would Six Flags. Did I mention that water parks have never been fun for me either? So even if I did go, I'd have a pretty lousy time because I'd just be standing around watching everyone else. What a waste of 30 bucks, huh?

Nope, not doing it. And with that, my hopes of a day of fun with no worries went out the window...

My husband is still going, so it looks like I will be spending the day with my little one. So in the end, I guess I still win.
