I am beyond ready for summer. I’m ready for longer days, and lots of sun. Unfortunately, Texas is being a season tease right now. Looking out the window all I see are cloudy, grey, skies along with 43 degree weather. You never would have guessed that yesterday it was sunny and 70 degrees. But, this is Texas. And Wednesday calls for almost 60 degrees and sunny skies again so I guess I should just shut my mouth and be happy about that. Still, I’m so ready for summer.
On Saturday we finally had Emery’s birthday party! I'll write more about that later since all of the pictures are still on my camera/phone. I will say that it was lovely though. We had family and friends come over for pizza, salad, and cake. Then I went to watch Safe Haven with our sitter’s daughter while Em attended church with my parents. And now I just want to go on the record and say Nicholas Sparks is a damn genius. I mean, he really knows how to pull on your heart strings and bring on the water works. Not to mention all of the romance! I was so ready to run off to this sleepy little beach town with Josh Duhamel. I do have to confess that I've never actual read any of his books though. I've only seen the movies, but I’m hoping to change that. Soon.
Sunday was a lovely, lazy day. Emery and I spent it at my parents house where we played with puzzles, bubbles, and water colors. It was also sunny and warm out so we spent some time outside soaking in the sun. We left pretty late in the afternoon, but still managed to make a trip to town for some shopping and dinner. It was a perfect, relaxed, weekend.
